Partner Visa, Australian Citizenship & Temporary Activity Visa – Justice in Action

Published May 2, 2025

From securing a Partner Visa after an initial refusal, unlawful overstay, forced departure, and family allegations of non-genuineness—to obtaining a Temporary Activity Visa for a renowned Myanmar artist and defending the citizenship of a nationally awarded not-for-profit executive facing adverse character findings—this quarter reflects our unwavering commitment to purpose-driven advocacy and results that change lives.

A Voice for the Voiceless: Legal Pathway for Myanmar Artist Leads to $160,000+ Raised

We are proud to assist Hearts Beam Rising Incorporated, a community-based charity in securing a Temporary Activity visa for an acclaimed Myanmar artist, Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein. The humanitarian tour raised over $160,000 in Sydney alone, benefiting earthquake victims and displaced civilians affected by military violence. Featured events included a keynote at NSW Parliament and performances in Parramatta and Melbourne.

When law meets purpose, impact resonates far beyond the courtroom.

Partner Visa Triumph After Years of Setbacks

A love story tested by time, borders, bushfires, incarceration, and bureaucracy. After an initial visa refusal, an unlawful overstay, forced departure, and even a family-driven allegation of non-genuineness, this couple’s future together hung in the balance. We stepped in at a critical moment—preparing a comprehensive appeal after years of setbacks and mishandled representation. With over 2,500 pages of evidence, a compelling narrative, and determined advocacy, our team successfully secured a positive tribunal decision in 2025.

Challenges Overcome are visa cancellation and unlawful status, sponsor’s incarceration, accusations of non-genuine relationship by family members, and poor previous representation leading to refusal. After nearly a nine-year journey, the couple is finally on the path to permanent reunification in Australia. The partner visa is in the final stages of grant.

When others gave up, we built the strongest case yet

Citizenship Approved for Sector Leader After Character Challenge

We successfully defended the citizenship application of a nationally awarded not-for-profit executive who faced refusal due to adverse character findings.

Our submission highlighted her decade-long leadership in community housing, deep-rooted commitment to social justice, and demonstrated genuine remorse and rehabilitation, supported by forensic psychological evidence and strong character references. Thanks to our advocacy, her path to citizenship is no longer in doubt—our client is now a proud Australian citizen.

Justice isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress and integrity.
