The Government has temporarily relaxed the enforcement of visa condition 8547 (the 6-month work limitation) for Working Holiday Makers.
This work limitation condition has been temporarily relaxed until 31 December 2022. This means, from 01 January 2023 onwards, a working holiday maker visa holder may work with an employer for a maximum period of 6 months, regardless of any period they may have worked for that same employer prior to 31 December 2022.
In other words, a Working Holiday Makers visa holder can potentially remain with the same employer until 30 June 2023.
Despite this temporary relaxation, in some cases, it is possible to seek permission from the Government to extend the 6-month work limitation. If you are a working holiday maker visa holder, that is, you hold either a subclass 417 or subclass 462 visa, contact our team to discuss your migration options, pathways, and risks.
