Parent Visa Subclass 103 is a permanent visa to allow parents of Australian citizen or permanent resident child to stay and remain in Australia indefinitely. Subclass 103 visa is a non-contributory visa, which means the visa application fee is lower, however, the processing time is significantly longer compared to other contributory parent visas.

Parent Visa Subclass 103 Eligibility Requirements

You must be sponsored by your Australian child for this parent visa subclass 103. If your child is under 18, you will need to find another eligible sponsor such as a community organisation.

You also need to meet a balance of family test. You meet this test if:

  • at least half of your children and stepchildren are eligible children (Australian citizen/PR/eligible NZ citizen), or
